JAMMU, Feb 1: The Union Government on Saturday proposed allocation of Rs 41000.07 crore to Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory for next financial year, 2025-26.
Union Finance Ministry today proposed an allocation of Rs 41000. 07 crore to Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory in the Union Budget for 2025-26, of Rs 41000.07 crore allotted to J&K, Rs 40619.30 crore has been kept as central assistance for J&K to bridge its resource gap.
Rs 279 crore have been proposed to be allocated as grants towards contribution to the Union Territory Disaster Response Fund and Rs 101.77 crore to meet resource gap funding for infrastructure project.
Meanwhile , the Government of India has allocated Rs 9325 crore for the Jammu & Kashmir Police, which is under the administrative control of the Union Home Ministry, in the Union Budget for 2025-26.
