DC Kathua stress the necessity of a target-driven approach for timely completion of JJM Schemes

 KATHUA, DECEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting to assess the advancements made under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.

At the outset, XEN PHE Kathua apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the financial and physical progress achieved under the Mission. The XEN apprised the meeting that out of 834 total works of JJM 813 have been allotted of which 157 have been completed.

Regarding the construction of overhead tanks, it was informed that all 161 OHTs have been allotted. The meeting focused on reviewing the ongoing Water Supply schemes, with a detailed Sub Division and scheme-wise analysis.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all executing agencies and contractors to mobilize resources to accelerate the pace of work.

Discussions unfolded regarding challenges impeding the progress, including specific attention to the Water Supply schemes where contractors are facing bottlenecks in laying water pipelines in Billawar, Basohli and Nagri.

The DC directed concerned Revenue authorities to take prompt action so that completion of the Water Supply Schemes can be achieved in given timelines.

The DC underscored the need for collaborative efforts between the Jal Shakti Department, contractors, revenue, and other stakeholders to resolve impediments. He also stressed the necessity of a target-driven approach for timely completion.
