Samba District convenes General Body Meeting of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

SAMBA, NOVEMBER 07: The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Samba successfully conducted its first General Body Meeting today under the Chairmanship of Abhishek Sharma, Chairman SPCA (District Magistrate Samba).

The meeting took place in the Conference Hall of District Administrative Complex, Nandani Hills and was attended by notable individuals and representatives from different organizations.

Among the esteemed attendees were Suresh Sharma, JKAS, ADC Samba, Amit Choudhary, CEO MC Samba, Dr Gourav Choudhary, Member UT Animal Welfare Board, as well as representatives from Forest and Police departments.

Additionally, 24 members of the District SPCA were also present, showcasing the strong support and dedication towards animal welfare in the district.

During the meeting, Dr Rahul Dev, Member Secretary SPCA Samba (CAHO Samba), highlighted the achievement of completing the quorum of 20 members, making district Samba the first district in the UT of J&K to convene such a General Body Meeting.

DC Samba commended the Animal Husbandry Department, particularly CAHO Samba and Dr Neena Pathak, for their meticulous efforts in conducting the membership drive for the society.

The DC Samba expressed confidence that the society would effectively work towards the welfare of animals in the district, particularly strays. He assured the provision of every possible aid for the society's growth and urged the members to develop an Action Plan and roadmap for further strengthening the district SPCA.

During the meeting, elections were held for the crucial positions of Vice President and Treasurer of the Management Committee of District SPCA. Vikesh Amba and Rajeev Sharma emerged as the elected officials for these positions respectively.

The meeting drew to a close with a vote of thanks by Dr Rahul Dev, marking a significant milestone in the journey of SPCA Samba.
