JAMMU, Sep 15: M.K. Ajatshatru Singh , BJP senior leader and the great grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh has appealed to the Govt of J&K, His Excellency – Sh. Manoj Sinha and other government officials to declare 23rd Sep as a State Holiday as a mark of respect and honor for Maharaja Hari Singh ji’s whose reign saw a sea of noble reforms, and people friendly policies, which endeared him to all his subjects, irrespective of class, religion and gender. Being a true Indian and patriot, his dedication concern, love and service for his people, whether education, agriculture, social justice, upliftment of the women, children or underprivileged, remains matchless and unforgettable part of memory of the people of the state.
It is noteworthy that in 2017 , M.K. Ajatshatru Singh had moved the resolution in the assembly urging the government to declare 23 September, the birthday of Maharaja, as a State holiday which was hugely welcomed and appreciated by all members of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council and citizens of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh as a “real tribute” to the ruler who was a true nationalist.
In his appeal, M.K. Ajatshatru Singh stated that “ Many people all over India and world have been appealing the government to declare holiday on the birth anniversary of the most respected Dogra ruler. Taking their efforts into consideration, and as a great grandson of the highly notable personality who laid high parameters of administration, and social justice, I strongly appeal to the Govt , His Excellency Sh Manoj Sinha to fulfill the long pending aspiration and demand of the people of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh to declare a holiday on 23rd of September, 2022 as a mark of respect and honor for the true statesman and the last unforgettable Dogra ruler of the country.”
Further, M.K. Ajatshatru Singh also stated that he has already requested several central govt. leaders on this issue , who have assured him to take up the matter in favor of the expression and demand of the people of J&K, Dogra youth and other communities.
