Jammu , Aug 12: Special events on Har Ghar Tiranga under Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav were organised by Jammu police at different locations in Jammu City.
Different teams of police headed by concerned SHOs, I/C PPs under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachit Sharma, SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafri, DySP DAR KD Singh and overall supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma visited areas of Jammu including Auqaf Market, Gandhi Nagar, Apsara Road, Residency Road and installed national flags at important locations.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli also accompanied these teams at different locations and led the campaign interacting with different stakeholders of society.
He told them that hoisting national flag is not only a mean to celebrate India's 75th Independence Day but also a way to pay tributes to all the heroes of country who sacrificed their lives.
The teams also met with shopkeepers of the area and motivated them for healthy participation in the campaign of Har Ghar Tiranga besides distributing flags among pedestrians.
The traders whole heartedly welcomed the initiatives of police and assured that every single individual in society is already playing role in this campaign and Tricolour will be hoisted with proud at the top of every house.
On the other hand, bands of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police and CRPF held special shows at different locations of city and played patriotic songs.
The performance of bands mesmerized the audience who were enriched with patriotic values by artists in uniform.
SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said that Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav marks 75 years of India's independence and it becomes sole responsibility of every countrymen to celebrate this elite occasion and Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign with this spirit.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir police in Jammu district is hoisting flags at a number of locations while thousands of flags have been distributed among people so that everyone can hoist the flag at their houses.
He further appealed every section of society, organisations and individuals to become a part of this campaign.
