Inspector General Registration Pawan Kotwal revises Stamp Duty rates for year 2021 in J&K


Jammu, December 30: The Inspector General Registration has revised Stamp Duty rates for the Calendar year 2021.

The circular issued by Dr Pawan Kotwal, Inspector General of Registration reads as:-

                 “The new stamp duty rates for the Calendar year 2021 have been notified by the Divisional Valuation Boards of Jammu/Kashmir, which would come into force from January 1, 2021".

Accordingly, it is impressed upon all Registrars and Sub Registrars that the Stamp Duty is to be charged as per new rates w.e.f. 01.01.2021 irrespective of the date of uploading of the documents onto the National Generic Document Registration System or date of filing of the documents with Registrars/Sub Registrars.

The Additional Inspector General Registration Jammu and Kashmir will ensure that these instructions are implemented in letter and spirit.
