Jammu, Jan 11: On the directions of Mandeep Kour, Commissioner/Secretary H&UDD, JMC/JDA are acting to remove illegal encroachments & demolishing it with the help of district administration & Police in a well organized manner.
Today, again by making a major crackdown on encroachers on JDA lands, Pankaj Sharma, Vice Chairman, JDA again acted tough with the joint collaboration of JMC, District Administration & District Police Jammu on encroachers.
In the recent time, Jammu Development Authority, has activated its anti-encroachment and demolition drive against land mafia as well as against building violations.
Few days back a notice was issued to all coloniser and individual public for observing the building bye laws as well as getting their colonies registered and following the due procedure for getting change of land use sanctioned by the JDA within its jurisdiction.
Today in line with its objective of ensuring planned development and taking action against violations, a significant anti-encroachment and demolition drive was carried out by the Jammu Development Authority in close coordination with JMC, District Administration and Police.
The drive, aimed at reclaiming encroached land, and taking action against violation of building norms within the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation in and around the Sidhra and Majeen areas.
The operation was well coordinated in which JMC provided the men and machinery and District Administration provided magisterial support and presence of police ensuring the smooth conduct of this anti-encroachment drive.
The areas with large-scale recent encroachments that includes Dingyali, Gulshan Nagar, and Asrarabad in revenue villages Majeen and Ragoora, Sidhra were identified as despite issuing notices/warning in such areas, the land mafia alongwith team of contractors with massive labour force continued without bothering these warnings.
During the drive, 12 illegal houses and 4 plinths were demolished successfully retrieving 10 kanals of JDA land on the spot. Besides giving a strong massage to all illegal encroachers and other builders in the area that no one will get away with impunity, all encroachers are subject to law.
The drive was a success, not only in removing illegal encroachments but also in raising awareness among residents about the importance of knowing the procedure for carrying out construction on the land with clear title under ownership as government or JDA land shall be retrieved by the JDA and administration without fail.
Pankaj Sharma, Vice Chairman, JDA gave a clear massage to the public that they should ensure construction of housing after varying the title of land and following due procedure for construction of buildings.
He further advised public not to construct buildings on the acquired JDA land in Ragoora, Majeen, and Sidhra areas for larger public interest as the JDA has earmarked the land for development of township in the area for the public.
The JDA shall remain committed to ensuring that public land is safeguarded against unauthorized encroachments and will continue such efforts in the future.
