SRINAGAR, JUNE 25: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar today advised students to look beyond the confines of academics and strive to make career in other fields like sports, social work and business.
The Minister was speaking at a function organized by SP Higher Secondary School in collaboration with Kashmir Harward Educational Institute to felicitate outstanding sportspersons of the state.
Those who were presented with mementos included Mehrajudin Wadoo, Mir Hamza, Saad Bhat, Parvez Rasool, Mohammed Akbar Khan, Showkat Geelani, Rifat Abdullah and others.
Advising the students to emulate sportspersons like Mehrajudin Wadoo, Parvez Rasool and Mir Hamza, the Minister said that students should expand their vision and explore new and varied careers. He asked the students to make these sportspersons role models.
The Minister also felicitated two young Naat Khwans from Kashmir Harward Educational Institute.
Terming the Prophet of Islam as role model for entire Humanity, the Minister said, “Our Prophet (SAW) is the most remarkable personality in the history in every way. Students should adopt a small facet from His life and then choose a career in any field. That way he or she will achieve the heights of success with strong basic principles.”
The Minister said that a true Muslim would never take bribe, lie or inflicts loss on anybody. “So with such qualities we will have the best civil servants, sportspersons, academicians and social workers in our state,” said Akhtar.
The Minister asked the students to become game changers as Muslims all over the world are faced with a bad image and the new generation with its merit and achievements can turn a page in the history.
