POONCH, APRIL 04: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the Revenue Department in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mendhar Imran Kataria; SDM Surankote Farooq Khan, along with Tehsildars, the Account Officer, and other concerned officials.
The meeting discussed the ongoing endeavors in digitizing and geo-referencing of revenue records. The urgency of completing the digitization process, and retrieval of encroached state land were emphasized throughout the discussions.
The current sanction Strength and Vacancy Positions, essential revenue documents such as Khewats, Khatas, and Khasras were also discussed.
The Deputy Commissioner specifically highlighted the need for timely verification and digitization of revenue records, directing all officials to ensure the provision of online services to the public within a stipulated time frame.
He also mandated the demolition of illegal encroachments along NH144, reinforcing the government's commitment to maintaining public land integrity.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the Capex Budget for 2024-25, focusing on the status of construction projects and the completion of the remaining land passbook issuance process.
This proactive approach aims to bolster the efficiency of the Revenue Department and enhance service delivery to the citizens of Poonch.
