Suspended senior IAS Officer faces "Chargesheet in Bribery Case"

Patna, Apr 01: Abhishek Prakash, a 2006-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been served a chargesheet by the Uttar Pradesh Appointments Department, which seeks his explanation regarding allegations of bribery, with departmental action to follow based on his response.

He was suspended on March 20 for allegedly demanding a bribe from SAEL, a solar components manufacturing company, in connection with setting up a factory & he is also expected to face action in the Bhatgaon land scam.

Under regulations, the suspension of an IAS officer typically does not exceed six months. Meanwhile, authorities have intensified their investigation into corruption allegations involving Prakash.
