MHA to debar 04 IPS officers to go to central deputation or service abroad for five years, if not deployed

Dehradun, Feb 08: Four Uttarakhand cadre IPS officers namely Neeru Garg (IPS: 2005), Mukhtar Mohsin (IPS: 2005), Arun Mohan Joshi (IPS: 2006) and Rajiv Swaroop (IPS: 2006) -- will no longer be able to go to central deputation or service abroad for the next five years.

Information has been sent to the State Government and Police Headquarters by Ministry of Home Affairs.

The state government had recommended the names of eight IPS officers to the central government for deputation in 2024 but on January 4, 2025, a letter was written to the Union Home Ministry, expressing the inability to send four officers on deputation citing various reasons.

But the Centre had already approved on January 4 to take all eight IPS on deputation as per the approval received earlier and also gave them deployment in various forces.

In the letter sent in this regard, it was clarified that these officers would be prohibited if they are not deployed on deputation within a month.
