JAMMU, Jan 26: Editor-in-Chief of Cross Town News, Rahil Gupta has been awarded for the prestigious State Award in the category of “Outstanding Media Persons” on Republic Day.
In a list released by Jammu and Kashmir Government, Editor in Chief of Cross Town News , Rahil Gupta’s name was announced for the prestigious state award in outstanding media persons category.
Rahil Gupta is presently the Vice Chairman of J&K Karate Association and has remained Member J&K Sports Council and J&K Transport Advisory Committee.
The State Awards file was given approval by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah , after names were cleared by Apex Level Committee which included Dy CM Surinder Choudhary , Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma , Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo as Members.
As per details emerging , Rahil Gupta , was recommended by record number of 8 IAS Officers and 3 JKAS Officers holding posts of District Magistrates and above , which itself speaks the volume/quality of Journalism done by Rahil Gupta and itself is record number of recommendations.
Rahil Gupta , after completing , Engineering and MBA , started Cross Town News , in 2013 , which is the most read Portal in Jammu and Kashmir today with 20 lakh monthly page views.
The intensive coverage by Rahil Gupta during recently held Elections in Jammu and Kashmir was appreciated by masses as he covered most of the parts.
