JAMMU, Jan 8: In a meeting of the District Advisory Committee under the Pre-Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques  Act, District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya today reviewed the application of 4 ultrasound clinics/ imaging centres.

While approving all the applications upon scrutiny, the DM emphasized strict monitoring of ultrasound clinics and imaging centers across the district and called for regular inspections.

He mandated that all registered clinics display clear rate list and statutory warning against conducting sex determination tests.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Harbaksh Singh, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, an NGO representative and other committee members.

But, it is to mention here that, no doubts DC Jammu is conducting meetings on various issues but it has been not been seen that he & his team of Revenue Officers have ever reviewed the status of non compliance of SRO-456 of 2017, followed by time bound directions issued in LGs ACs Decision No 17/1/2022 dtd 29th Jan 2022 with Govt Order No 18-JK(Rev) of 2022 dtd 4th Feb 2022 & thereafter LGs ACs Decision dtd 25th July 2024 & Govt Order No. 102-JK(Rev) of 2024 dtd 02.08.2024 by which DCs were asked to clear the issue of GM Khad lands up to 200kanals, causing harassment to thousand of innocents of Jammu District.

Above all it is to mention here that the said act is causing loss of crores per month to JKUT Govt by way of Stamp Duty Fee & other taxes by not allowing sale/purchase of such nomenclature lands but there is no any order of stopping sale/purchase of such lands, needed to be acted upon.
