JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: DC Jammu and his team not complying SRO-456 of 2017 dtd 25th Oct 2017, followed by LGs ACs Decision No 17/1/2022 dtd 29th Jan 2022 with Govt Order No 18-JK(Rev) of 2022 dtd 4th Feb 2022 & thereafter LGs ACS Decision dtd 25th July 2024 with GO NO. 102-JK(Rev) of 2024 dtd 02.08.2024 by which DCs were authorized to resolve issue of such lands where ownership is recorded as private up to 200 Kanals but despite lapse 05 months of last decision zero kanal of such lands has be cleared by DC Jammu
However, today, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya convened a meeting today to assess the progress of pending land acquisition, de-acquisition and requisition cases concerning the Army.
The meeting included Defence Estates Officers Jammu and Udhampur, along with Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Rajesh Kumar and Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Jammu North, Jammu South, Akhnoor, Marh and RS Pura.
During the meeting, the DC emphasised the necessity for DEOs and SDMs to expedite the resolution of all outstanding cases within set timelines.
He directed the officers to ensure that pending rent assessments are completed without delay, enabling prompt disbursal of rental payments to rightful landowners.
He further stressed that pending payments of rent must be cleared at the earliest.
