J&K: CAT to order for stoppage of salary of top Govt Officer if fails in compliance

Jammu, Sep 7: In C.P./41/2024 (JAMMU) In O.A./578/2022  titled SHAHEENA AKHTER Vs SPORTS AND YOUTH SERVICES DEPARTMENT after hearing CAT Jammu ordered as under:-

Mr. Dewakar Sharma, learned DAG has submitted that respondent no. 2 has written a communication (Annexure-1 with the status report) to the respondent no. 1 on 10.04.2024 for release of unpaid wages of the petitioners to the tune of Rs. 22,53,545 lacs but the said amount till date, has not been released by the respondent no. 1 and some time be granted for payment of unpaid wages to the petitioners.

Mr. Sudershan Sharma has vehemently opposed the submission made by the learned DAG and submitted that petitioners are suffering financially for the casual approach of the respondents.

Be that as it may be. In the light of communication made by the respondent no. 2 with regard to the aforesaid liability of unpaid wages of the petitioners, as a matter of last and final opportunity, the respondents are directed to release the said amount within a period of three weeks, failing which order with regard to the stoppage of salary of respondent no. 2 will be passed on the next date of hearing. List on 04.10.2024.
