Tenure of Cabinet Secretary  getting over on 30th Aug , If no extension  , then 2 IAS Oficers of 1987 batch frontrunners

NEW DELHI, July 26:Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has created History with being the longest-serving Cabinet Secretary of India with a tenure of 5 years.

It will be clear in coming days that whether Rajiv Gauba will get another extension or not , and one more extension cannot be ruled out.

Sources told Cross Town News  in Case Gauba does not get extesnion , then that two 1987 batch IAS Officers could be front runners to be next Cabinet Secretary.

Sources in Delhi Power corridor , told Cross Town News that the two Officers who could be considered are  Finance Secretary TV Somanathan and  Gujarat Chief Secretary Raj Kumar .

T. V. Somanathan is a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre and presently the Finance Secretary of India.

He has also worked at the World Bank, Washington D.C.on deputation.

Somanathan holds a Ph.D. in economics from Calcutta University and Executive Development Program diploma from Harvard Business School,

Raj Kumar,  is 31st Chief Secretary to Government of Gujarat since  31st January, 202 and  is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo.

He has also served as Secretary to Government of India in the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.
