Chennai, Oct 26: The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked a man who posed as a PMO official and threatened the director of a Chennai-headquartered chain of eye hospitals. Based on a complaint of the Prime Minister's Office, the CBI booked Maayank Tiwari of Vadodara in Gujarat for impersonating a public servant and posing as director of the government advisory in the PMO.
According to the FIR, Dr Agarwal's Health Care Limited signed an agreement with Indore-based doctors Pranay Kumar Singh and Sonu Verma to transfer their business functioning in the name of Vinayak Netralaya to Dr Agarwal's and paid Rs 16.43 crore.
However, the doctor duo allegedly breached the agreement and sent their doctors to other hospitals instead of Dr Agarwal's. Dr Agarwal's went for arbitration and the doctor duo were ordered to return the sum within four weeks.
In July, Maayank Tiwari approached Dr Agarwal's director Aadil Agarwal on WhatsApp and 'advised' him to "sort the matter with Pranay." The FIR also has details of messages exchanged between Agarwal's and Maayank Tiwari.
