Div Com Jammu asks stakeholder departments to ensure speedy issuance of required NOCs

 JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 02: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of senior Officers of Tourism and other stakeholder departments to review the status of renewal of Hotel licences. The representatives of Hotel Associations of Jammu division were also present in the meeting.

The president Hotel Association apprised the Div Com about the issues being faced by Hotel associations in renewal of their licences which need NOCs from Pollution Control Board, Fire Services, Character certificates etc.

They informed that the process of obtaining various NOCs is time consuming and causes delay in the renewal process due to which hoteliers face many difficulties. The Div Com listened to the issues patiently and assured the Hotel associations that the renewal process would be streamlined to fast-track issuance of licenses.

The Director of Tourism informed attendees that the Tourism department has proposed several relaxations to streamline the renewal process. It was clarified that character certificates would be necessary only for initial registration, while renewals would only require an affidavit.

The Div Com instructed all the stakeholder departments to prioritize and facilitate the issuance of NOCs within their purview to ensure the swift renewal of hotel licenses. This move is expected to alleviate challenges faced by hoteliers in the region and promote the tourism sector.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya; Director Tourism, Vivekanand Rai; MD JPDCL, Shiv Anant Tayal; besides senior officers of Pollution Control Board, Fire Services, Jammu Municipal Corporation besides President Hotel Association, Pawan Gupta alongwith Office bearers of Association and other concerned.
