LG J&K's interest in Agriculture bears fruit: Jammu Rajmash & Honey get GI  certification

Jammu, August 29:Under  LG J&K, Manoj Sinha  J&K is getting GI tagging's of its product in world level.

Previously Basholi paintings, Kathua, muskbuduj(Rice) Anantnag, Chikery(Wood Craft) Rajouri got GI tag but now with the additional personal efforts of Shailndera Kumar,  Pr Secretary, PWD & Agriculture, Horticulture two additional items of Agriculture & Horticulture including Rajmash of Bhaderwah & Rambans Sulai Honey gets GI Certification.

It is to mention here that Rambans Sulai Honey is the first honey, which has got registration in GI Certification in India. GI tagging will also promote economic prosperity of locals in the geographical territory and will act as a tool for social economic growth of the producer.

The process for GI Tagging of these products was initiated by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Jammu under special efforts of 
Shailndera Kumar,  Pr Secretary and finally it was granted today.


It is also to mention here that Padma Shri, Rajnikant, a GI expert from Kashi, also known as the GI man of India, is instrumental in getting GI Certification to 59 goods from 20 states of the country is playing with his role to get these GI Certifications in J&K as well.
