JAMMU: A generation , which ignores history has no past and no future. Indian Culture defines Humanity as a constituent of its Core Values. Outsiders were always welcomed to take shelter in India, carry out trade, study or settle down. Invaders wrote the history to glorify themselves, downplaying the rich culture, traditions and ethos of India. To discuss the distortions of history, a Seminar was held at Rotary Bhawan , Jammu by Rotary Club Jammu in collaboration with a CSO, National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organization (NCCHWO). The main speaker of the Symposium , Col Ajay Kumar Raina, SM, is a renowned Historian, Research Scholar, Defense Analyst and an Entrepreneur. He has around 15 books to his credit and specializes in operations of 1947 Indo Pak conflict.
The Symposium proceedings were moderated by Sh ShreranshJain , who also introduced the Speakers.A traditional welcome was accorded to Col Ajay Kumar Raina by Dr DushyantChoudhary (District Governor ,Rotary Distt 3070 ) and Brig Harcharan Singh, VSM ( National Administrator, NCCHWO ) .
In his welcome address, Dr Dushyant emphasized on the requirement of identifying the portion of history of India which requires corrections. He appreciated the efforts and research work of Col Ajay Kumar Raina in this field and assured support of Rotary Club Family in the research work being done by various scholars, to correct the anomalies.Brig HarcharanSingh gave out the KeyNote Address.He brought out that the fault lines in history are required to be repaired. He brought out that the rich culture, heritage , literature and arts of India has not been glorified , as they should have been. Our advanced knowledge of Astronomy and Astrology was ahead of all other civilizations. The invaders glorified themselves and painted a pathetic picture of the Indian Social System. The research work of Col Ajay Kumar Raina has corrected many inaccuracies of the history, with special reference to J&K and 1947 conflict.
The audience was spellbound by the educative talk by Col Ajay Kumar Raina. The talk centered around the distortions that invariably form part of recorded history and long term impact of these on social and political scenarios. Broad based study and research work has been done to correct some of these inaccuracies. Col Raina said that he will continue research in this direction to identify such distortions further, as one of his missions.
Sh Balraj Singh, President Rotary Club, Jammu Tawi, thanked the participation of members from Rotary Club, SS Jain Sabha, Jain Mahila Mandal,Jain Yuvak Sangh,Inner Wheel Club ,Jammu Tawi,Vichar Kranti Manch International, Home for Old & Infirm and NCCHWO. All administrative arrangements were made by Rotary Club, Jammu Tawi. Symposium closed with a recital of the National Anthem.
