JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr Bali Bhagat today informed the House that admission process for newly established Nursing College at Kishtwar would start before the end of this financial year.
He said development of requisite infrastructure including building has been completed and after meeting other needs, the admission process would take off. He said the advertisement for admission would also be issued shortly.
The Minister was responding to the supplementary questions by Mr Sajad Ahmad Kichloo and Mr Naresh Kumar to the main question raised by Yashpal Sharma in the upper house today.
The Health Minister said that 10 Nursing colleges are to be established in different parts of the state of which funds to the tune of Rs 1.50 crore each have been provided for Kupwara, Jammu, Kishtwar, Samba and Anantnag under PMDP.
He said construction work of Mother and Childcare hospital at Bhaderwah is going on and would be completed in stipulated timeframe.
Replying to the main question, the Minister informed the House that for establishment of Nursing College at Poonch, Rs 35 lakh have been earmarked under capex budget to initiate the construction work during current financial year.
The Minister said that the department is in the process of identification/finalization of land for construction of Nursing College in Poonch, adding that the viability for construction of the college building within the premises of District Hospital Poonch is also being examined.
