PULWAMA, JULY 20 : On Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer Choudhary in a unique initiative of having a first hand account of larger issues affecting life and getting acquainted with the aspirations of youth and students, has started a novel initiative of having an informal interactive session with the youth and students of the district.
The initiative is a part of the movement, District administration has started under engaging youth and realizing their potential.
Today, under @Pulwamamissionyouthias, students from Govt Higher Secondary school Karimabad were invited for the interaction and students selected under draw of lots were provided an opportunity to sit in Deputy Commissioner's Chair and to deliver and redress issues of public.
Students were given 10-20 minutes for addressing issues and taking decisions related to day to day affairs of administration. Students later expressed overwhelming satisfaction over the initiative of District administration.
In its first session hosted at the DC office complex Pulwama, scores of students from Higher Secondary school Karimabad interacted with the Deputy Commissioner and expressed their opinions related to a wide range of issues in an informal atmosphere.
While hosting the session, Deputy Commissioner, Baseer Choudhary said that this interaction will be a regular feature in the district every fortnight as part of the initiative of district administration to engage with youth & students and to know about their interest areas, various concerns and seek their views on plethora of issues pertaining to young generation.
Baseer Choudhary added that a platform is being provided to students where they can discuss wider issues pertaining to life and Society in an informal way.
He said such sessions will also help in changing behaviour pattern of dejected youth and students anxious about their careers besides motivating them to become social change agents.
He added that such best practices can potentially motivate youth of the district to get attracted towards civil services.
He also added that such meetings will also serve the purpose of apprising the young generation regarding various initiatives taken by the Govt for their benefit.
