Jammu, April 1: Apni Party Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir has urged Govt to ensure supply of 24×7 electricity supply in Jammu during hot summers.
Mir said weather conditions become harsh and unbearable for people during summers in Jammu. Therefore, the Govt must ensure people do not suffer due to unscheduled power cuts and supplied uninterrupted power supply through the day and night.
In his address, Ghulam Hassan Mir reiterated demand for the empowerment of people of Jammu and Kashmir with the restoration of Statehood and holding of assembly elections.
Speaking at a function organized to felicitate newly appointed District President, Jammu District, Pranav Shagotra at Gandhi Nagar in Apni Party Office, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the people of the erstwhile State feel disempowered with the downgrading of J&K into a Union Territory.
“The downgrading of J&K State into a UT has given rise to the feeling of disempowerment. In last several years, the bureaucracy has also made the people of suffer because of their attitude of superiority,” said Mir.
He congratulated Pranav Shagotra on his appointment as District President, Jammu and hoped the issues of public will be highlighted for early redressal.
He said that the restoration of Statehood was promised by the Govt of India. “They should democratize institutions and empower people with the holding of elections in J&K,” he demanded.
He said Apni Party believes in unity of people and both the regions without regional or communal bias. “We believe in the politics of truthfulness and the divisive forces have no place. Apni Party will not allow such elements who do divisive politics on the name of regions and religion,” he added.
Meanwhile, Senior Leader and Former Minister Mohammed Dilawar Mir also congratulated Pranav Shagotra.
Dilawar Mir said that “We have continued our struggle for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir since the inception of Apni Party. Apni Party forcefully raised the issue of protection to jobs for the youth of J&K. And, the Govt of India provided job security to the domiciles of J&K.”
He said that it was Party’s efforts that 4G speed internet services could be restored. “Restoration of Statehood is the core issue of Apni Party as well as employment to the unemployed educated youth. When other political parties were silent over the suffering of people, Apni Party alone raised issues and get them redressed,” said Dilawar Mir.
While speaking on the occasion Vijay Bakaya, General Secretary congratulated Pranav Shagotra on assuming the charge of District President Urban Jammu.
He said that the leadership had taken note of his vast experience in public life and had acknowledged his ability to provide leadership and build a strong cadre of people committed to the ideology of the Apni Party.
He said that the Apni Party is determined to give a new direction to the politics of the UT which shall be focused on development and highlighting of the issues concerning the youth, women, backward classes and both regions.
Bakaya stated that ever since 5th August 2019 when Article 370 and 35A were abrogated.
Apni Party has been emphasizing that while this action was shocking, the reality had to be accepted that these Articles can be restored only by the SC or by consensus in parliament but not by empty rhetoric. It has at the same time demanded restoration of Statehood by the Central Govt and has an elected Govt in place early.
Because of this realistic and achievable politics, the people are convinced it is necessary to move with the Apni Party on the straight path of development and not waste time in chasing false dreams.
He stated that other parties have been compelled by the honest politics of the Apni Party to also talk of restoration of Statehood and accept the changed reality.
He expected Pranav and his team to spread the message of the party far and wide.
Speaking on this occasion, General Secretary Vikram Malhotra said that Apni Party has emerged as a major political force in Jammu Division which has frustrated BJP as they have exposed themselves with their arrogance.
“The height of arrogance can be gauged from the fact that a senior leader of that party has compared protesting aspirants of BSF/CISF with the domestic servants,” Malhotra said. He said that the ruling political party has humiliated the unemployed youth who want justice from them.
He said that “Apni Party is working among the people and we do not discriminate with the people. We should work for the development, unity and equality. Degrading youth who are asking to support them for the genuine demands is unfortunate.”
Manjit Singh, Provincial President, Jammu Division, speaking on the occasion, said that many people joining Apni Party with the opening of membership. He appealed the people to come forward to strengthen the party. He also congratulated Pranav Shagotra on his appointment as District President, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Apni Party, Provincial President, Women Wing, Namrta Sharma, said that the women in rural as well as urban areas of Jammu have joined Party in large numbers.
“Women were concerned about the price rise of essential commodities, increasing unemployment, drug addiction among youth, electricity, failure of JMC in installing street lights and in providing basic amenities,” said Namrta. Namrta said the process of strengthening the party will continue.
Speaking on the occasion, newly appointed District President, Jammu District, Pranav Shagotra thanked the party leadership and all other leaders in Apni Party for his appointment and assured that he would work for the strengthening of party.
He said that from anti-encroachment drive, poor drinking water supply, unscheduled power cuts, lack of cleanliness, poor garbage collection, and mounting problems of people because of lack of coordination within Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu District is facing multiple issues.
“We have to work unitedly for the redressal of issues. The JMC works on directions of a political party and Apni Party will not allow their selective approach. How can they discriminate with the residential colonies? Why can’t they workout in coordination without selective approach? There is no cleanliness in Jammu which exposes failure of GMC. In coming days, Apni Party will come on the roads if the public issues are not resolved,” said Shagotra while thanking the party leadership for providing him this opportunity.
Shagotra said that the Party will fight for the cause of people and will not let them to suffer because of a political party. “The BJP leaders fear coming out in public in view of anger against them. They know if they come out people will question them and grill them for their utter failure. The people of Jammu feel insecurity in industrial jobs, and business because of BJP’s hollow slogans,” said Shagotra.
The function was also attended by J&K Trade Union President Ajaz Kazmi, State Youth General Secretary Abhay Bakaya, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, Provincial President Youth Wing, Jammu, Gourav Kapoor, District President Youth Jammu Urban, Shivam Choudhary and others.
