Jammu, Feb 09: A Mahila Gram Sabha was held at Panchayat Baran for the launch of "Reusable Sanitary Pads" made by SHG members of JKRLM UMEED , Block Bhalwal. The Reusable sanitary pads were launched by Ms Sheetal Nanda , IAS Secratary to Government Department of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj.
The program started by briefing of the product by Ms Sonal Sharma, BPM Bhalwal. Reusable Sanitary Pads is made up of natural ingredient such a s banana fibre making it eco-friendly. Further the uses and health benefits of Reusable Sanitary Pads were elaborated by Nukkad Natak by Shakti Cluster Level Federation , JKRLM , Block Bhalwal.
Ms Rubina Kauser , Mission Director , JKRLM laid emphasis on breaking the taboo around mensuration. Worthy Secretary , RDD & PR focused on the benefits of reusable sanitary pads over disposable pads and she urged the women folk to adopt the eco-friendly, economical and reusable sanitary pads. Secretary ,RDD & PR also inaugurated Custom Hiring Centre for the agriculturist SHG members to boost the Mahila Kisan. Mr Sham Lal, Additional Mission Director , JKRLM , Umeed appreciated the work of SHGs of Block Bhalwal and encouraged them to take these kind of initiatives in future as well.
Vote of thanks was presented by BDO Bhalwal, Ms Saima Khan. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Additional Mission Director , JKRLM Sham Lal , DPO , BDC , CDPO and PRI of panchayat Baran.
