Samba, August 13: Reiterating government’s resolve to promote industrial sector in the state, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today said that several new industrial units are coming up in the state which will help to create ample job opportunities for the local youth.
The Minster was speaking after inaugurating a day long job fair here at Bari Brahmana organized by Vaishno Group of Colleges in collaboration with Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA).
Addressing the participants, the Minister said that government has laid special focus on skill development programmes so that the local youth would get suitable jobs. “Efforts for developing the industrial infrastructure are underway and land bank for the establishment of new units in the state has been created” he informed and added that the government has decided to give preference and encourage women entrepreneurs who are willing to establish business units in the state.
The Minister informed the gathering that various reputed industrial groups including Blue star, Dabur India Limited, ITC and Patanjali have come forward to invest in the state which will provide ample job opportunities to the youth. He stressed upon the industrial fraternity to adhere to the norms set by the government to safeguard employees’ rights.
Chander Parkash Ganga appreciated the efforts of Vaishno Group of Colleges for organizing the job fair and provide platform to the job seekers by bringing many companies under one roof. He also thanked representatives of various companies for their presence in the event and engaging local youth in their companies.
Around 25 companies including Ericson, Eicher, Intex, Uflex, Sanghvi Woods Pvt Ltd., Zenus Group, STC Technologies,Vectus,Ravenvhel Heathcare Pvt. Ltd. Medley,Spectro, Top Survey Experts, MKS Technologies, Jai Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Naturis, KK Roller Flour Mills, MVD Cementation & Construction Pvt. Ltd. , Bhargav Arms Co., Platinum Infosys Pvt. Ltd., TNS, Rising Steel Fabricators, CADD Centre, Suntech Inrasolutions Pvt. Ltd and Lahori Builders participated in the event and selected more than 300 students.
On the occasion, the Minister also distributed the offer letters among the selected candidates.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Director Industries and Commerce, Rajinder Singh Tara, General Manager Industries and Commerce, V.K Behnal, Managing Director, of SIDCO Amit Sharma, Managing Directors of Vaishno Group of Colleges, Varun Gupta and Rahul Pathania, President BBIA, Lalit Mahajan, representatives of various companies, students and job aspirants were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister also flagged off fourth batch of Buddha Amarnath yatra from Yatri Niwas Bhawan Jammu to Poonch district.
