Azamgarh, Feb 04: Court has sentenced retired UP Police Inspector Jainendra Kumar Singh to life imprisonment in a custodial death.
It is to mention here that on March 29, 2003, the police took one, Harilal Yadav into custody in connection with a battery theft case.
It added that at the behest of the Police Station Officer Jainendra, the Daroga Narendra Bahadur Singh beat him with sticks, then shot him to death.
In 2003, Mulayam Singh Yadav's government conducted a CB/CID probe into the case. Both were found guilty in the CB/CID investigation.
Daroga Narendra died during the trial. The lone accused, former Inspector Jainendra Kumar Singh, was today sentenced to life imprisonment by the court.
