On directions of DC Kishtwar Pankaj, Girls Madrasa students sensitised on Child Marriage by Child Protection Officials

Kishtwar, Jan 14 Under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), the Child Protection Department Kishtwar organised an awareness programme under the Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign at Madrasa Madin Tul Uloom Lilbanat (Barkat-e-Fatima), Kishtwar, with the objective of sensitising girl students about the harmful effects and laws on child marriage.

The programme was conducted under the directions and guidance of the District Child Protection Officer, Kishtwar, Tariq Parveaz Qazi (JKAS).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sana Butt (Counsellor OSC), informed about the physical, psychological and social consequences of child marriage and emphasised the role of religious and educational institutions in preventing child marriage and encouraged students to act as ambassadors of change within their families and communities. "

Any incident of child marriage or child abuse can be immediately reported on the Child Helpline number 1098, which operates round the clock to provide assistance and protection to children in need", Informed by Farana Tanveer (Supervisor CHL).

Saima Kousar (Social Worker DCPU), administered the pledge on Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat and stressed to work collectively for the protection of children’s rights.
