DC Budgam stresses quality execution of works, adherence to approved plans

Budgam, Jan 08: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, visited Khag to inspect the local playground in panchayat khag and reviewed the proposed development works of the playfield, which is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.90 lakh. - \

During the visit, the DC took detailed assessment of the existing facilities and interacted with local residents, youth, and children of the area.

The visit was marked by a cordial and encouraging atmosphere, as the Deputy Commissioner was seen playing with little children at the playground, conveying a strong message on the importance of sports, physical fitness, and outdoor activities in daily life.

The DC emphasised that the development of sports infrastructure at the grassroots level plays a vital role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, discipline, teamwork, and positive values among young minds.

He stated that well-planned and properly maintained playfields not only serve as recreational spaces but also act as platforms for identifying and nurturing sporting talent in rural and semi-urban areas.

While reviewing the project, the DC stressed the need for quality execution of the development works and directed the concerned executing agencies to adhere strictly to approved plans and specifications.

He laid Emphasis on the timely completion of the project within the sanctioned cost so that the facility can be made available for public use without delay. The DC also underscored the importance of community participation in the upkeep and effective utilization of such public assets.

He said that collective ownership and responsible use significantly contribute to their sustainability and long-term impact.

The DC further informed that another Playfield at Poshker Panchayat is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.00 lakh, adding that district administration is focused on strengthening sports and recreational infrastructure across different panchayats of the district.
