Jammu, Apr 10: Govt today barred a Doctor from private practice after detection that he had conducted over 1807 surgeries under the AB-PMJAY-SEHAT Scheme exclusively in private hospitals, with none performed at GMC Srinagar.
Order copy with CTN, which is not uploaded on website of H&ME reads as under:-
A review revealed that he made no contributions under the scheme at GMC Srinagar despite being a full-time faculty member. The Doctor has been identified as Dr. Hanief Dar, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, GMC Srinagar.
An evaluation of Dr. Hanief Dar’s work under the AB-PMJAY/AB PMJAY SEHAT Scheme by the State Health Agency, J&K, revealed that he has performed 1807 surgeries exclusively in private hospitals, with no procedures recorded under the scheme at GMC Srinagar,.
It further added that the work-done report from GMC Srinagar confirms that, despite being a full-time faculty member, his engagement in private practice significantly outweighs his contribution to government service. This constitutes a serious violation of J&K Service Conduct Rules and Government directives on private practice by medical faculty.
In exercise of the powers vested in the Government and in accordance with the relevant service rules, Dr. Hanief Dar, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, GMC Srinagar, is hereby prohibited from engaging in private practice across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, with immediate effect & non-compliance will invite disciplinary action as per service rules.
Now, It is to mention here that only stopping of Private Practice of the said Doctor for not complying Govt Orders served the purpose?
