DC Samba directs banks to clear pending cases under various government schemes

SAMBA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba, Rajesh Sharma chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting, here today at the DC Office.

The meeting reviewed the performance of banks in deposits, advances, CD ratio and achievements under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for the financial year 2024-25. Progress under various government-sponsored and social security schemes was also assessed.

The meeting was convened by Lead District Manager (LDM), Samba, Sanjay Dhar and attended by officials from LDO RBI, GM DIC, NABARD, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and other key government departments, along with representatives of J&K Bank, SBI, PNB, JKGB and other financial institutions.

During the meeting, the DDC conducted a detailed review of government-sponsored schemes, emphasizing 100% digitalization of bank accounts and urging banks to actively promote self-employment initiatives.

He directed banks to clear pending cases under various government schemes and ensure timely credit disbursement to boost economic activities. He also stressed the need to cover all eligible beneficiaries under social security schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY. On this occasion, the Potential Credit Plan (PLP) 2025-26 for District Samba, prepared by NABARD, was also released. The DDC formally launched the PLP 2025-26, which will serve as a roadmap for enhancing credit flow to priority sectors, fostering economic development in the district.
