J&K: Court grants seven days police remand of Patwari, who was caught red handed

JAMMU, Feb 14: Special Judge Anticorruption Kathua Parveen Pandoh today granted seven days police remand of Patwari namely Sudershan Khajuria who was caught red handed by the ACB Team while accepting bribe Rs 15000/-

 Special Judge Anticorruption Kathua after perusal of the application for remand, medical report of the accused and case diary.

As per C.D.file, the accused has been arrested on 13.02.2025 and investigation of the case is at initial stage and offence allegedly committed by the accused is heinous in nature.

Hence, the accused is remanded to Police custody for a period of 07 days.

The Court added that the accused shall be produced before the competent Court on 20.02.2025.1/C P/S ACB Jammu shall ensure the safe custody of the accused and the guidelines laid down by the Apex Court in State of West Bengal V/S D.K.Basu are complied.

Accused was informed of his rights under legal aid. I/C P/S ACB, Jammu is further directed to get the accused medically examined after every 48 hour.
