JAMMU, Feb 14: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, chaired a crucial meeting with all Range DIGs and SSPs of the Jammu Zone at the Zonal Police Headquarters today.
The meeting focused on enhancing policing methods through innovation, improving intelligence gathering, and strengthening the capabilities of specialized units like the Special Operations Group .
IGP Tuti stressed the importance of a proactive, technology-driven approach to policing. He emphasized the need to integrate advanced intelligence tools and enhance data management systems to improve crime detection and prevention.
A major part of the discussion centered on revamping the SOG to boost counter-terrorism efforts and strengthening the technical units of the J&K Police.
The IGP instructed officers to ensure seamless and real-time intelligence flow to effectively counter emerging security challenges.
Tuti also highlighted the need for a quick and coordinated response to emergencies, urging improvements in police control rooms across the region. He called for better operational preparedness, swift decision-making, and enhanced coordination among different police units.
The IGP further stressed the importance of data-driven policing, urging officers to make full use of police databases for crime analysis and tracking repeat offenders.
He also emphasized prioritizing modern policing tools, including artificial intelligence-based surveillance and predictive policing methods, to improve security and law enforcement.
Senior officers from various departments, including SSP PCR, SSP Special Operations and Trainings, and SP Operations Jammu, attended the meeting. The IGP directed officers to swiftly implement the measures discussed to strengthen policing in the region.
The meeting concluded with detailed discussions on action plans to ensure the timely execution of the proposed changes.
