POONCH, FEBRUARY 01: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of the District Export Promotion Committee to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing export potential in the region. The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, CPO, CAO CHO, CAHO, AGMO, LDM and other concerned. The session commenced with a briefing by General Manager of DIC (Convener District Level Export Promotion Committee) Khalid Hussain Wafa, who outlined the agenda for the meeting. Key discussions included the promotion of the "One District, One Product" initiative, focusing on local specialties such as pecans, walnuts, and the tourism sector.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of collaborating with e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart to enhance awareness and facilitate registrations for local products. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner directed JKTPO to incorporate Rajmash and Wool from Poonch into the District Export Action Plan. He also told the JKTPO to provide a comprehensive list of upcoming events both-free and paid, scheduled for the next six months.
To further bolster local businesses, the Deputy Commissioner proposed a workshop on packaging to enhance product presentation. He also called for an updated presentation from JKTPO within 3-4 days, detailing actionable activities for implementation. The meeting saw participation from various stakeholders, including representatives from JKTPO, MSME Jammu, AD Handicrafts and Handloom, and the District Officer KVIB Poonch, with some attending through virtual means.
