CBI registers FIR against IAS officer & others for ‘corruption’

New Delhi, Jan 11: : Central Bureau of Investigation filed a case against Udit Prakash Rai, a former Delhi Govt Education Director and IAS officer, for alleged irregularities and corruption. 

The charges include appointment of faculty members, including Rai's wife, Shilpi, at the govt-aided Delhi Tamil Education Association schools using fake experience certificates.

Others named in the FIR include R Raju, honorary secretary of DTEA, Sharad Kumar Verma, former deputy education officer; Govindavel Harikrishna, principal of Moti Bagh DTEA Sr Secondary School and Shrikant Singh Yadav, manager of CPM public school. CBI alleged that these individuals conspired to facilitate the appointment of five people, including Shilpi Rai, as TGT/PGT in DTEA schools using false teaching experience certificates in 2021-22.

All five beneficiaries were named as accused in the case.
