JAMMU, Dec 29: The cadre strength of IPS officers in the AGMUT cadre likely to increase to increase some where between 515 to 535.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is likely to review the cadre strength of IPS officers in the AGMUT cadre soon, sources told Cross Town News, where as notification likely in early part of next year.
The review is significant because Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have recently become part of the AGMUT cadre, which presently have 70 and 10 seats respectively.
Sources further told Cross Town News that AGMUT cadre is the second-largest IPS cadre in India, comprising three states and eight union territories , with cadre strength of 457, with 248 sanctioned IPS cadre posts , will see rise of strength by up to 78.
Souces added that Total senior duty post to increase from 248.
MHA is the cadre controlling authority for the AGMUT cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
