KISHTWAR, Dec 23: Leader of Opposition and MLA Paddar-Nagseni, Sunil Kumar Sharma, and MLA Kishtwar, Shagun Parihar, along with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today conducted an extensive review of the physical upgradation works being executed under the Power Development Department (PDD) in Kishtwar district.
The visit aimed to assess the current power infrastructure and ensure the readiness of key projects to improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply in the district.
The delegation reviewed the ongoing augmentation works, including the readiness of the Hatta Receiving Station and the upgradation of the 132/33 KV Grid Station at Katarsamna. A major milestone under execution is the upgradation of the 20 MVA Power Transformer to a 50 MVA capacity, which is expected to significantly enhance power supply to Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas.
Sunil Kumar Sharma commended the efforts of the Kishtwar administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner , Kishtwar and the PDD for their tireless dedication to realizing these critical augmentation projects.
He highlighted the importance of timely completion of these works to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the harsh Winter months and minimize curtailments faced by residents.
Shagun Parihar emphasized the transformative impact of these projects, which are poised to redefine the power quality in Kishtwar.
She reiterated her commitment to ensuring the district’s progress through infrastructural advancement and efficient governance. Sunil Sharma further assured the people of his commitment to addressing their power supply concerns and ensuring that developmental works in the PDD sector are carried out efficiently to meet the growing needs of the district.
These upgradation projects are expected to significantly enhance the overall power supply infrastructure in Kishtwar, benefiting both urban and rural areas and contributing to the district’s socio-economic development.
