RAJOURI, DECEMBER 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today visited Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri to interact with patients and review the hospital's functioning.
The visit came in the wake of a concerning situation in Badhaal village, where seven individuals recently lost their lives due to an unidentified illness.
Several other affected individuals were admitted to GMC Rajouri, and all are showing encouraging signs of recovery.
During his interaction with the patients from Badhaal, DC Abhishek Sharma assured them of all possible assistance from the district administration. He expressed his commitment to ensuring the best possible medical care for those admitted and extended support to the affected families.
Deputy Commissioner also interacted with other patients at the hospital and conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of GMC Rajouri. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of healthcare and urged the hospital authorities to prioritize the well-being of all patients.
Reassuring the public, DC Rajouri appealed to the general public and media not to create panic until the final reports of food and water samples, sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), are received.
He stressed the need for cooperation and patience during this time. The DC was accompanied by Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr. A.S. Bhatia, and senior doctors of the hospital during the visit.
The team briefed the DC on the ongoing treatment of patients and the steps being taken to manage the situation.
