Constitution of  VMCs in district will play a direct role in developmental activities: Rajesh Shavan

KISHTWAR, Dec 3: To take administration to the doorsteps of the people, District Development Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan today convened a public outreach camp at Drabshalla.

The event attracted a large participation of people from Drabshalla, Kuntwara, Saroor and surrounding areas providing them an opportunity to put forth and seek on the spot redressal of their demands and grievances.

Stalls showcasing beneficiary and developmental schemes offered by different departments were put up on the occasion.

A wide range of grievances were projected by the public which were mainly related to the Jal Shakti Department, Roads & Buildings (R&B), Education, Power Development Department (PDD), Agriculture and others.

The Project affected families from the far-flung Kuntwara region raised the demand for permanent rehabilitation and basic amenities including washrooms in the main market area.

The demand for improved infrastructure, including the construction of road to Chamoti, and providing employment opportunities to local youth in HEP were also raised by DDC Member, Drabshalla-A Ashok Parihar. Seeking provision of infrastructure for promotion of sports, the people demanded establishment of a shooting court, volleyball ground, cricket ground, and an indoor sports stadium in the area. 

The DC provided updates on the ongoing and upcoming development projects. He assured that the rehabilitation process at Kandini is set to begin soon strictly according to the RR Plan. “Construction of roads, washrooms, and multi-parking facilities are being actively considered, Work on Joshana Road and Harijan Basti Road will begin in the next 3-4 days”, informed the Officer.

The District Development Commissioner stated that the constitution of Village Monitoring Committees (VMCs) in the district will play a direct role in developmental activities, serving as the eyes, ears, and arms of the administration.
