SAMBA, NOVEMBER 30: A monthly meeting of the District level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) Committee was held today in the Meeting Hall of DC Complex Samba with Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma in the chair.
The meeting reviewed the progress reviewed on the ground outcome of actions being taken to control narcotic trade and drug abuse in the district.
A detailed discussion ensued on several critical issues related to drug addiction, hotspots of drug abuse and the coordinated actions taken by multiple departments to crack down the existing network of drug abuse in the district.
The meeting particularly focused on the efforts of enforcement agencies in addressing the challenge. Recommendations on strengthening the vigilance network were also provided.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the need of engaging the youth in healthy, productive sports activities.
The Assistant Drug Controller reported on the inspections undertaken during the month, while SSP shared progress on action taken against identified drug peddlers in the district.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the District Administration and Police Department showcasing the commitment to ensuring a drugs-free Samba. Back to Press Release List
