SAMBA , Nov 12: Dr. G.N. Itoo, the Mission Director for the Jal Jeevan Mission along with District Development Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, conducted an in-depth review of the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission works in Samba district under the Central Sponsored Scheme today.
The review meeting, held with various officials, included the Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Jammu, Bodh Raj Bhagat; Executive Engineer Ground Water Division Jammu, Rakesh Bhatti; Executive Engineer, PHE Division Samba; Executive Engineer JPDCL Vijaypur; and officials from DPMU Samba, AEEs, JEs, contractors, Third Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, Implementation Support Agencies (ISAs), and contractors involved in civil and mechanical works.
The Superintending Engineer briefed the Mission Director and the Deputy Commissioner on the project’s current status, noting that 73 schemes have been completed, while 57 schemes are at various stages of execution.
The SE emphasized that all schemes are on track for completion by February 2025. Out of 56 Overhead Tanks (OHTs) planned, 28 have been completed, with another 10 expected to be finished by the end of the current month.
The remaining OHTs are scheduled for completion by February 2025.
District Development Commissioner Rajesh Sharma instructed the AEEs and JEs to guarantee uninterrupted water supply to the public and to ensure the prompt repair of machinery at nearby workshops as needed.
Additionally, he directed officials to resolve any land issues in collaboration with the District Administration to avoid delays in project implementation.
