MLA Rajiv Jasrotia first to tore Resolution on Article 370

Jammu, Nov 06: In a significant political development, MLA Rajiv Jasrotia today opposed the resolution on Article 370, which was passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly earlier today. The resolution, aimed at affirming the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India, garnered strong support from the ruling coalition, but faced opposition from Jasrotia, a prominent member of the opposition. Jasrotia, while addressing the assembly, raised concerns about the implications of the resolution, stating that it failed to address the real concerns of the region's people. He argued that the resolution could exacerbate the already volatile situation in Jammu and Kashmir and deepen the divide between the local population and the national government.

The resolution, which seeks to strengthen the region's legal ties to the rest of the country post the abrogation of Article 370, was seen by supporters as a reaffirmation of Jammu and Kashmir's integration with India.
However, Jasrotia's objection highlights the continuing political sensitivity surrounding the issue, with many local leaders voicing their dissatisfaction over the region’s changing political landscape. While the government claimed that the resolution would foster peace and development, opposition leaders, including Jasrotia, warned that it could lead to further unrest if the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not addressed adequately.

The debate is expected to continue to dominate the political discourse in the coming days, as various groups weigh in on the future of the region’s political status and its relationship with the central government.
