DEO Kishtwar informs Political Parties/Candidates that no unauthorised persons be allowed inside the counting premises

Kishtwar, Oct 5. The District Election Officer Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan-JKAS chaired a meeting political party representatives and the contesting Candidates and briefed them about the counting day preparedness and guidelines.

He elaborately highlighted the activities pertaining to the venue, security and traffic arrangements, final randomization of counting personnel, procedure for opening of strong rooms, post counting shifting of sealed polled EVMs, appointment of counting agents, allotment of counting tables etc.

Highlighting the security and traffic arrangements, the DEO informed that a three-tier security arrangement has been made to ensure fool proof arrangements for the peaceful counting.

“Public announcement systems will be installed at KV Semina Colony ; the earmarked area for public gathering. No unauthorised persons will be allowed inside the Counting Premises,” he further informed while appealing to all for cooperation.

He said that entry of vehicles near the counting hall will be strictly restricted. Only those authorised and with vehicle passes will be allowed near the Kendriya vidyalaya premises wherein the counting shall take place.

The DEO apprised that all the candidates and agents can witness randomization of counting personnel, opening of strong rooms etc to maintain the transparency. They were asked to submit form –18, which deals with appointment of counting agents and advised them to keep I Cards and Form 18 with them to avoid any inconvienace.

The DEO further apprised all the participants about the rules and regulations applicable for the counting agent and made them aware about the process.

Mr. Shavan also appealed all the political parties ,their candidates and the counting agents to treat it as a festival and have a smile on their face and maintain peace and brotherhood.

He said that "Catch the Smile" slogan put by the District Election Authority for this election has been successful for getting greater participation of voters ,in terms of percentage of poll.

He said that he would like to see the smile on the faces again even if verdict goes against any candidate treating it as a match.
