CAT questions J&K Govt that why has applicant with merit of 39.16 not been considered, where the last cut-off merit is admittedly far below?

Jammu, Sep 17: In  T.A./7174/2020 (JAMMU) titled RENU MANDLA Vs DIRECTORATE OF SCHOOL EDUCATION UT OF J&K after hearing DB of CAT ordered as under:-

Mr. Hunar Gupta, learned DAG has submitted that he will produce the record pertaining to the selection process before this Tribunal on the next date. At this juncture, Mr. Vikarm Sharma, learned Sr. counsel submitted that at the time of production of relevant record, three queries should be addressed by the Secretary, SSRB.

1. If the selection process was one for all the three advertisement notifications, why and how did the respondents did not issue one shortlist and instead bifurcated the merit in two different short-lists i.e clubbing Advertisement Notification No. 3 & 5 for one shortlist and Advertisement Notification No. 6 for another short list?

2. How many candidates from shortlist of Advertisement Notification No. 6 have been inported and shown selected in the final select list of Advertisement Notification No. 3 & 5 ?

3. Why has the applicant with merit of 39.16 not been considered for the final select list of Advertisement Notification No. 6 where the last cut-off merit is admittedly far below ?

Mr. Hunar Gupta, learned D.A.G. shall file an affidavit with regard to the aforesaid queries along with the record pertaining to the selection process on the next date of hearing and also produce Secretary SSRB before this Tribunal.

The matter will be taken for physical hearing on 20.09.2024 at 3:00 PM.
