Varanasi, April 22: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sr. Section Engineer/P.way, Salempur, Deoria, NER (North Eastern Railway), Varanasi in a case related to acceptance of Rs. 20,000/- as bribe from the complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint against accused Sr. Section Engineer/P.way, Salempur, Deoria, NER, Varanasi on allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs. 50,000/- from complainant for relieving him from current posting to Moradabad Division.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant.
Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused at Salempur and also at Gorakhpur (U.P.).
Accused is being produced before the Competent Court today. Investigation is continuing.
