Senior IPS officer returns official car saying is not per his police rank

Chandigarh, April 18: A Haryana senior IPS officer returns official car by saying that he has been not allotted vehicle as per police rank.

A 2001-batch IPS officer, Puran Kumar is currently the Inspector General of Police (Telecommunications) in Haryana.

He pointed out that the vehicle allotted to him is almost seven years old and not in a very good condition & less than two weeks after returning his official car to the state police department hoping for allotment of a car as per his entitlement, he has approached the state government alleging “discriminatory and selective” allotment of official vehicles to the IPS officers in the state.

In his letter to the state Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad on April 14, IGP Y Puran Kumar has urged him to consider enquiring into the allotment of staff cars and operational vehicles to the IPS officers in the state.
